Today's Prayer:

Lord, I thank You for another day. With much busy work ahead, I've found myself neglecting to start my day with this prayer. I am grateful that despite Your jealousy for my time and attention, Your mercy shines through, guiding me back to You even in moments of distraction. I pray that Your mercies through Jesus be known by all, that every heart may come to witness Your glory. I exalt You, Father, for Your infinite wisdom and compassion. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Scripture Reading:

Genesis 11:1-9 tells the story of the Tower of Babel, where people, in their ambition, sought to make a name for themselves apart from God. Their work was not sinful in itself, but their focus shifted from God to self-glorification, leading to confusion and division.

In Matthew 6:24-34, Jesus reminds us that we cannot serve two masters. Whether it's career ambitions, leadership roles, pressing projects, or even daily distractions, these "masters" can slowly pull us away from what truly sustains us—our relationship with God. Worrying about tomorrow or striving for achievements can consume our focus, but Jesus calls us to seek first the Kingdom of God, trusting that everything else will be provided in His perfect timing.

Today’s prayer is a reminder that even when we drift, God’s mercy calls us back. Let us be intentional about where our devotion lies, ensuring that no pursuit, no matter how noble, replaces the time and attention meant for Him.
